graphic design process — step 01: share your brief Share Your Brief

The first step in our graphic design process is understanding your goals, audience and project scope.

What we need from you

  • A clear description of your goals — what does a successful outcome look like?
  • Who we’re designing for (target audience, markets, languages).
  • The scope of work: labels, packaging, key visuals, social assets, etc.
  • References you like (moodboards, examples, competitors, dos & don’ts).

What we do

  • Turn your input into a clear, structured creative brief.
  • Ask the right questions to fill any gaps.
  • Confirm the scope so both sides know exactly what is (and isn’t) included.

graphic design process — step 02: send content and assets Send Content & Assets

Before the graphic design process moves forward, we need all materials in place to avoid delays.

What we need from you

  • Final or near-final texts, claims, slogans and legal copy relevant to the project.
  • Existing logos, brand guidelines, colour codes and fonts, if you have them.
  • All technical elements we must use: barcodes, UFI / EC-ID numbers, icons, certifications, etc.
  • Confirmation that all supplied materials are approved and legally usable.
  • Existing logos, brand guidelines, colour codes and fonts — ideally in Adobe Illustrator or PDF format, if you have them.</li>

What we do

  • Organise and check all assets.
  • Let you know if anything is missing or inconsistent.
  • Prepare everything so the design phase is smooth and efficient.

graphic design process — step 03: scope and timeline Scope, Timeline & 30% Advance

Once the brief and materials are clear, we agree on the full scope of the project.

  • The final scope of work.
  • The timeline for the first draft and subsequent stages.
  • The number of revision rounds included in the project fee.

Payment terms

  • We confirm the total project price in writing (email or proposal).
  • You pay a 30% advance payment based on the agreed price.
  • Work on the project starts after the advance has been received.

graphic design process — step 04: design review and collaboration Design, Review & Collaboration

This is where the graphic design process comes to life — we create, present and refine the work together.

What we do

  • Create the first draft / concept within the agreed deadline.
  • Present a clear, structured proposal (or a small set of options), with reasoning behind design decisions.
  • Refine the work based on your feedback, within the agreed revision rounds.

What we need from you

  • Timely feedback (usually within 24–72 hours, depending on project size).
  • One design contact person on your side who consolidates feedback, so we don’t chase conflicting inputs from multiple sources.
  • Clear decisions at each stage — approvals, changes, or questions.
  • Major changes to the brief or scope after a concept is approved may affect both timeline and cost, and will be transparently discussed before we proceed.

graphic design process — step 05: final delivery Final Delivery & Handover

The final stage of our graphic design process — delivering everything you need, in every format you need it.

What we do

  • Prepare and deliver final production-ready files in the agreed formats (for print, digital, or both).
  • Supply any additional exports you need (e.g. web previews, mockups, simplified assets), if included in the scope.
  • Provide support for your printer or production partner if any technical clarifications are needed.

What you can expect

  • Files that match the agreed brief, specs and deadlines.
  • A clear structure for future collaboration — once we’ve gone through the process together, every next project becomes faster and easier for both sides.

graphic design process — step 06: final approval and payment Final Approval & Remaining 70% Payment

Once the project is complete and approved, the final step is sign-off and payment.

Client’s obligation

  • The Client confirms that all final files have been reviewed and approved for production / use.
  • After written final approval, CMYK Box issues the final invoice for the remaining 70% of the agreed project fee.
  • The Client agrees to pay the remaining 70% within 3 (three) calendar days from the invoice date.

Final open files, production handover or additional exports may be withheld or delayed if the remaining payment is not received within this period.
